Kamali
The workspace where a humanitarian organisation keeps its funders, its programmes and everything it owes them, and where the reports and letters are drafted for it.
A small NGO can have dozens of foundations behind it, each with its own deadlines, report formats, thank-you customs and payment terms. In most offices that lives in inboxes, spreadsheets and one person's memory. Kamali puts it in one place, and then does the writing that follows from it.
It was built with its first client, a Swiss NGO, on their real work: their funders, their reports, their events. It runs for them today.
What it does
- Todaywhat is due, what is overdue, and what the organisation owes to whom, on one page
- Fundersevery foundation and donor, the agreements, the obligations and the history of what was sent
- Reports and lettersdrafted from the organisation's own facts and figures, in its own templates, then checked and sent by a person
- Stories and mediamoments from the field and a photo and video library, converted and tagged in the browser
- Eventsinvitations with personal RSVP links, guests and places
- Thanks, payments and mailthank-you letters, incoming gifts, printed letters sent by post
- Formsfunders' application forms, filled from what Kamali already knows
How it's built
A Svelte front end and a Rust server on a Postgres database, on a server in Europe. Documents are opened and shown with Aperta Suite, so a funder's Word template looks the same in Kamali as in Word. The AI only drafts; nothing reaches a funder without someone at the organisation reading it first.
If your organisation has a process like this, the same approach works elsewhere. Book a call and tell me about it.
